Roy David is an architect and artist whose work operates at the intersection of built form, speculative imagination, and cultural narrative. Having founded his practice at the age of 25, David is widely regarded as one of the most influential architects of his generation, and a defining voice shaping architectural discourse today and for generations to come. He holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from Tel Aviv University and is the founder of ROY DAVID & ARCHITECTS (RD&A), an internationally active practice recognized for its visionary and cross-disciplinary approach. A two-time recipient of the Architectural MasterPrize, his work has been featured in some of the most respected architecture and design publications worldwide.
David’s creative foundation extends beyond architecture. From the age of six, he was professionally trained as a classical and jazz pianist, alongside studies in music technology and computer science, disciplines that continue to inform his architectural thinking through rhythm, structure, improvisation, and systems-based logic. His professional journey spans major cultural centers including New York, Berlin, Vienna, and Tel Aviv, experiences that have shaped his global perspective and sensitivity to context. Parallel to his architectural practice, he has developed a distinct artistic body of work exploring scale, gravity, isolation, and human presence through imagined megastructures and suspended environments. His visual language balances architectural precision with poetic restraint, often placing small human figures within vast, floating constructs, suggesting both vulnerability and quiet defiance.
Alongside his studio work, David is deeply engaged in education and critical discourse, delivering reviews and public lectures at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, FIDI in Florence, and numerous academic institutions worldwide. He is also a father to two beautiful children, Yahel and Ori, a role that subtly infuses his work with reflections on time, legacy, and the future worlds we choose to imagine and build.
